I have great credit now, but 3 years ago when the Credit Union took a chance on me, my credit was really bad. The Credit Union gave me a car loan at a better rate than I could have gotten anywhere, if I could have gotten one at all. The loan officer put me on payroll deduction and my payments were made on time, and were reported to the credit bureaus that way. I also got advise on how to clear up some things on my credit report that were inaccurate. Today my credit score is 748 and everyone is sending me pre-approval offers for cars, credit cards, and home equity loans. I just toss them and think why would anyone go anywhere else but the Credit Union.
