The St. Paul Federal Credit Union Board of Directors have announced the appointment of Chris Petersen as new Chief Executive Officer, effective August 8, 2025. The leadership transition comes as St. Paul Federal Credit Union enters a new phase of growth.
While I am new to our CEO position, I am certainly not new to the Credit Union. I’ve had the privilege of serving this organization for over 26 years—starting as a file clerk and working in nearly every corner of our operations since. From roles in ACH and electronic services, to leading our IT efforts as CIO, to serving as Bookkeeper, Accountant, and most recently, CFO—my journey has been grounded in one clear mission: serving you, our members.
I’m honored to introduce myself as the new Chief Executive Officer of St. Paul Federal Credit Union.
I want to take a moment to thank you for your continued loyalty to St. Paul Federal Credit Union. Your trust and commitment have built the foundation we stand on today. I also want to express my sincere gratitude to our Board of Directors for entrusting me with this role, and to our dedicated team—who bring unmatched experience, passion, and an average tenure of more than eight years. Because of them, our Credit Union continues to run like clockwork.
I am incredibly excited about what’s ahead.
Over the next 6 to 9 months, we’ll be rolling out some major improvements, including:
- A brand-new online and mobile banking platform to make managing your finances even easier.
- Expanded business account services to better serve our business members.
- Access to up to $15 million in extended Share Insurance coverage through our new partnership with ModernFI.
These are just the beginning of our continued efforts to bring you great service, innovative tools, and competitive rates—so you can save more and stress less.
